Peace Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid (John 14:twenty seven). Jesus makes it quite clear that our inner peace is to be found in Him and not in the world.  Isaiah 26:3 says: You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee. We all go through times in our lives that rob us of our peace. It is during these times, when we need God most, we may feel that He has deserted us.  John10:10 tells us that the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy (He wants nothing more than to steal our peace) but the good news is that Jesus came in order that we might have life in all it's fullness and He never leaves or abandons us. He is always right there beside us, whether we are on the mountain top or in the valley.    I found this quote, by Larry Eisenberg, years ago and it really spoke to me. For peace of mind resign as general manager of the universe...

Rest In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus says "Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke and put it on you, and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy, and the load I will put on you is light. We can easily become mentally and physically tired from the cares and pressures of the world.  When we are feeling our strength being drained, we can take comfort in the words of the psalmist. My mind and body may grow weak, but God is my strength;  He is all I ever need. I can remember a time when if I was resting and I heard someone coming I would jump up and look busy.  I bet I'm not the only one who has done this.  At the risk of seeming to be lazy or unproductive to others I was wearing myself out to prove them wrong. I love what Joshua Becker said:  Stop the glorification of busy. Busy, in and of itself, is not a badge of honor. It...

All for God's Glory We may know the Bible cover to cover and be able to quote scripture at the drop of a hat but if we are only talking the talk and not walking the walk God will never be able to use us to bring others close to Him.  My brothers what good is it for someone to have faith if his actions do not prove it (James 2:14).    We must let our light shine before people so that they will see the good things we do and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).  The work is His only, the glory is His alone.                                                                                                                           Simply Put:

Patience Patience is defined as the ability to wait for a long time without becoming annoyed or upset.  This is a hard one, because we as humans cannot claim patience as one of our greatest virtues.  Most of us have a hard time being patient waiting in line at the grocery store, let alone waiting for a long time for something we really want. Have you ever heard yourself saying "I just don't have the patience for this."  While that statement is true, because we are not born with patience, it is something through practice we can acquire.   There are always going to be people and situations in our lives that will try our patience.  If we ask God to help us to display patience when we are confronted with these situations, we will eventually find ourselves doing so.   I waited patiently for the Lord's help; then He listened to me and heard my cry (Psalm 40:1).  If you have been asking God for something for a long time and nothing seems to b...

Knowledge and Wisdom Knowledge is facts, information and skills acquired by a person through experience or education.  Wisdom is the ability to use your experience to make wise decisions.  N. Sri Ram said "Wisdom is not a question of learning facts with the mind; it can only be acquired through perfection of living." You can have a drawer full of degrees and still not be wise and on the flip side, you don't need a wall full of framed diplomas to be a wise person.  All the education in the world won't give you wisdom.  All we have to do is look at the state the world is in to know that this is the truth.   When God appeared to King Solomon and asked him,  "What would you like Me to give you?", Solomon didn't ask for wealth, fame or long life but for wisdom and knowledge so that he could rule over the people.  Solomon knew that knowledge alone wasn't going to cut it. Then God told Solomon that he had made the right choice. (2 Chronicles 1: 8-...
