Patience

Patience is defined as the ability to wait for a long time without becoming annoyed or upset.  This is a hard one, because we as humans cannot claim patience as one of our greatest virtues.  Most of us have a hard time being patient waiting in line at the grocery store, let alone waiting for a long time for something we really want.

Have you ever heard yourself saying "I just don't have the patience for this."  While that statement is true, because we are not born with patience, it is something through practice we can acquire.

There are always going to be people and situations in our lives that will try our patience.  If we ask God to help us to display patience when we are confronted with these situations, we will eventually find ourselves doing so.

I waited patiently for the Lord's help; then He listened to me and heard my cry (Psalm 40:1).  If you have been asking God for something for a long time and nothing seems to be happening, don't give up.  He hears you and is working on it.  When it is His timing, it will happen suddenly.

In a world of I want it and I want it now we need to ask God to help  us to be patient in our waiting.
