Peace

Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid (John 14:twenty seven). Jesus makes it quite clear that our inner peace is to be found in Him and not in the world.  Isaiah 26:3 says: You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.

We all go through times in our lives that rob us of our peace. It is during these times, when we need God most, we may feel that He has deserted us.  John10:10 tells us that the enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy (He wants nothing more than to steal our peace) but the good news is that Jesus came in order that we might have life in all it's fullness and He never leaves or abandons us. He is always right there beside us, whether we are on the mountain top or in the valley.

I found this quote, by Larry Eisenberg, years ago and it really spoke to me. For peace of mind resign as general manager of the universe. I really try to live by this but sometimes I fall short. In those times when I try to control or fix situations that I know I should stay out of, I find my peace slipping away and I have to remind myself that my peace is found in knowing that God is in control.

Only when we can from our hearts say "Father, Your will be done" will we have Spirit peace and not feel like we are drowning.
