Forgiveness

Our biggest deterrent to forgiving someone could be that we think if we forgive them we are saying that what they did was alright.

I googled forgiveness and this is what I found:  Forgiveness is a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness.  Forgiveness does not mean condoning or excusing offences.

This is what the Bible says:  If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your Father in heaven will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive the wrongs you have done (Matthew 6:14,15).

Simply Put:

Forgiveness frees the forgiver.

  1. I love this analogy Sis. I use to struggle with forgiveness for that exact reason, until I looked it up myself. Changed alot for me, and it absolutely sets you free!! And who am I, not to forgive, but yet expect forgiveness for myself.

    1. We are all in a different place in our walk but when we reach that point of forgiveness it opens a whole new world.
