What the Bible says about the Occult

Occult is defined as:  supernatural, mystical, or magical beliefs, practices or phenomena.

The Bible makes it quite clear that we are to avoid anyone or anything that tries to replace God and His plan for our lives.  Acknowledge that I alone am God and that there is no one else like Me (Isaiah 46:9).  For I alone  know the plans I have for you (Jeremiah 29:11).

But people will tell you to ask for messages from fortunetellers and mediums. "With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do."  They will say, "After all people should ask for messages from the spirits and consult the dead on behalf of the living."  You are to tell them , Listen to what the Lord is teaching you!  Don't listen to mediums-what they tell you will do you no good (Isaiah 8:19-20).

If anyone goes for advice to people who consult the spirits of the dead, I will turn against him and no longer consider him one of My people (Leviticus 20:6).

Isaiah 3:1-3, says that God was going to take away from Jerusalem and Juda everything and everyone they were depending on. That list included their fortunetellers and everyone who was using magic to control events.

I make fools of fortunetellers and frustrate the predictions of astrologers (Isaiah 44:25).

I used to read my horoscope and say it was just for fun until I came across the scripture that says we are not to give Satan a foothold.

Many of the believers came, publicly admitting and revealing what they had done. Many of those who practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in public (Acts 19:18).

From the beginning I predicted the outcome;  long ago I foretold what would happen.  I said that My plans would never fail, that I would do everything I intended to do. God speaking in Isaiah 46:10.

Simply Put:

All you should know, I will tell you when and how I see best. (taken from God Calling).
