Fear Not I've read that there are 365 scriptures (one for each day) that tell us not to be afraid. Now I don't know about you but I have to be honest,  I get scared sometimes.  Fear is a God given emotion to help protect us from dangerous situations. Ha ving s aid that...When an angel appeared to Mary ( Luke1:30) and others in the Bible and said "fear not", I believe that they were telling them not to be afraid of God's plan for them. The enemy is a liar. He can use fear to keep us from stepping out into what God is calling us to do. He can use fear to hold us back from our ambitions and dreams.  I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for ( Jeremiah 29:11).                                                                ...

Seize the Moment Is anyone else like me in that I find it hard to seize the moment? The definition of seize is: To take full advantage of life's opportunities whenever and wherever they present themselves; to live life to ones full potential.  I'm usually somewhere in the past or somewhere in the future. For some reason I find it hard to be fully present in the moment. I'm working on it and I must admit I am getting better. I am really starting to seize and enjoy the moments.  As the saying goes, we can't be in two places at once.  Nor can our attention and thoughts.   I really like this saying:  Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift that's why it's called the present.  I love the thought of every moment being a gift from God and that He wants us to live each one to the fullest (John 10:10).                                         ...

Blame God asked, "Did you eat the fruit that I told you not to eat?" The man answered, "The woman you put here with me gave me the fruit, and I ate it." The Lord asked the woman, "Why did you do this?" She replied, "The snake tricked me into eating it." (Genesis 3:11-13). Placing the blame on someone or something else is as old as history itself.  We blame life's circumstances for who we are and the way we act.  If they hadn't done this or if that hadn't happened, I wouldn't be the way I am.  When we can't find anyone else to blame, we even blame God.  It is true that life can throw us some curve balls. People can do or say hurtful things, but there comes a time when we need to let go and take responsibility for who we are and what we become.                                                       Simply Put: There are no winners ...

Forgiveness Our biggest deterrent to forgiving someone could be that we think if we forgive them we are saying that what they did was alright. I googled forgiveness and this is what I found:  Forgiveness is a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness.  Forgiveness does not mean condoning or excusing offences. This is what the Bible says:  If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your Father in heaven will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive the wrongs you have done (Matthew 6:14,15).                                                 Simply Put: Forgiveness frees the forgiver.
