The Return

I overheard two elderly men discussing the return of Jesus in doubtful tones because they had heard all about it from their grandmother when they were little boys and He still hadn't come. I was reminded of 2 Peter 3:3,4 where he tells us that in the last days people will make fun of you and  will ask, "He promised to come didn't He?  Where is He?

Two angels appeared to the apostles after they saw Jesus disappear into the clouds and told them He would come back the same way they saw Him go to heaven (Acts 1:10,11).

2 Peter 3:8,9 tells us that there is no difference in the Lord's sight between one day and a thousand years; to Him the two are the same. The Lord is not slow to do what He has promised, as some think. Instead, He is patient with us, because He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins.

There is no question about it, Jesus is coming back. The question we should be asking ourselves is, are we ready for His return.
