War or Peace Peace and war begin at home. If we truly want peace in the world, let us begin by loving one another in our own families. If we want to spread joy, we need for every family to have joy. This quote by Mother Teresa is hard for us to live up to but we need to try harder.  We need more unconditional love, more forgiveness and more of just holding our tongues.  Have you ever wanted to say something sooo bad but you don't because you choose peace instead?  That's called wisdom. We need more of that. Pray for peace in families and pray for Ukraine.🙏                                                       Lord Jesus, we ask You to give us all around  peace in our mind, body, soul and spirit. We ask You to heal and remove anything that is causing stress, grief and sorrow in our lives. Please guide our path through life and ...

Disguised We are pretty good at hiding behind that invisible mask. Now you see me but not really. We only know someone as much as they let us in.  How many times have we heard someone or even ourselves say " I thought I knew him or her?"  Romans 2:11 tells us that only God knows the heart.  At one time in my life, when someone would ask me how I was my automatic response was always "Just great." I would smile and that's all people would see.  Of course they couldn't see what was really going on in my heart. "Then" shortly after I accepted Christ into my heart I ran into a person that I hadn't seen for a long time. They asked how I was and without even thinking I gave my usual answer "Just great". They looked straight at me and said,  "Are you really?"  That question really took me aback. I was going through a family tragedy at the time which this person knew nothing about, so I was anything but great. Then I heard this still...

Judging James 4:12 makes it quite clear that there is only one lawmaker and Judge and, surprise, it's not you or me. James goes as far as to ask, "Who do you think you are to judge your fellow man?" None of us know another person's whole story. Only God knows us, even better than we know ourselves, that's why He is the only lawmaker and judge and He judges everyone by the same standard (Romans 2:11). Do you my friend, pass judgement on others?  You have no excuse at all, whoever you are. For when you judge others and then do the same things which they do, you condemn yourself (Romans 2:1).   We have all sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23).  I know I have lived in glass houses in the past and might find myself there again, who knows?  So in light of that I will lay my stones down and hopefully will find that same grace and mercy when I need it.                           ...

The Potter We know the difference between right and wrong but sometimes we are good at convincing ourselves that the wrong we may be doing is alright.  When we start off a sentence with I shouldn't say this or a thought with I shouldn't do that, it's a good indication that we shouldn't but we are really good at coming up with reasons why it would be okay.  If we do this enough, after awhile it just becomes a habit. I Timothy 4:2 tells us that we can have a dead conscience.  Let us give God permission to mold us into the people He planned for us to be. You are in My hands just like clay in the potter's hands (Jeremiah 18:6).  But You are our Father, Lord.  We are like clay, and You are like the potter (Isaiah 64:8).                                                                      ...
