A Free Gift

I bought a gift for a person I had known for  just a short time. When I gave them the gift, they offered to pay me for it. They couldn't understand why I was giving them something for free.

This reminded me of the free gift of salvation which is offered to us from Jesus. All we have to do is accept, it's paid in full.

For it is by God's grace that you have been saved through faith. It is not the result of your own efforts, but God's gift, so that none can boast (Ephesians 2:9).  For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him may not die but have eternal life (John 3:16).

  Forgiveness Our biggest deterrent to forgiving someone could be that we think if we forgive them we are saying that what they did was alright. I googled forgiveness and this is what I found:  Forgiveness is a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness.  Forgiveness does not mean condoning or excusing offences. This is what the Bible says:  If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your Father in heaven will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive the wrongs you have done (Matthew 6:14,15).                                                 Simply Put: Forgiveness frees the forgiver.

  Rejection One of the most painful human experiences is that of rejection. If you are feeling the sting of rejection and are thinking that no one understands, know that Jesus does.  John 1:11 tells us that He came to His own country and His own people did not receive Him.  On the night before His crucifixion, when He was arrested, His friends all ran away and left Him (Matthew 26:56). So let the one who has been there hold and comfort you and He will give you the assurance that when you open your eyes everything will be all right.  You will be assured that on the other side of the door acceptance is waiting.                                                                                  Sim ply Put: There is acceptance after rejection.
