Prayer
It used to throw me off when I called someone and an answering machine came on. Now it takes me by surprise when a person actually answers. Times change put God never does. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Malachi 3:6) and (Hebrews 13:8). God always has and always will be ready to take our call.
We can reach out to Him anywhere, anytime, with any request and He will be listening. Nothing is too big and nothing is too small. He wants us to bring it all to Him. We don't have to be on our knees or have our hands raised for God to hear us. We can do these things if we so desire but my point is God is looking at the posture of our hearts, not our outward posture.
Prayer is a two-way conversation. When we come before our Heavenly Father with our request, we need to be ready to listen for His reply. His answer isn't always the one we want. Sometimes He says yes, sometimes He says no (because He has something better planned) and other times He wants us to just wait. Just as we know what's best for our children, God knows what's best for us. His timing and His ways are always perfect.
One time I was praying for a deal to go through on a car. Well, the deal "fell through." I remember being so disappointed and asking God why? He knew I needed a car and it was a good price. Well, I found out later that this car needed a lot of work done on it. I did get a good deal on a reliable car not long after that which saw me through for quit awhile.
