Special Delivery

                                                                           

 

I always liked this well - known picture of Jesus standing in the garden knocking on a door.  I never noticed until it was pointed out to me that there was no handle on the outside of the door.  The person who brought this to my attention explained that the handle was on the inside.  We have to open the door and invite Jesus to come in.
Listen, I stand at the door and knock; If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into his house and eat with him, and he will eat with me (Revelation 3:20). 



Simply Put:

The choice is ours.

  Forgiveness Our biggest deterrent to forgiving someone could be that we think if we forgive them we are saying that what they did was alright. I googled forgiveness and this is what I found:  Forgiveness is a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness.  Forgiveness does not mean condoning or excusing offences. This is what the Bible says:  If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your Father in heaven will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive the wrongs you have done (Matthew 6:14,15).                                                 Simply Put: Forgiveness frees the forgiver.

  Rejection One of the most painful human experiences is that of rejection. If you are feeling the sting of rejection and are thinking that no one understands, know that Jesus does.  John 1:11 tells us that He came to His own country and His own people did not receive Him.  On the night before His crucifixion, when He was arrested, His friends all ran away and left Him (Matthew 26:56). So let the one who has been there hold and comfort you and He will give you the assurance that when you open your eyes everything will be all right.  You will be assured that on the other side of the door acceptance is waiting.                                                                                  Sim ply Put: There is acceptance after rejection.
